Welcome to 20th Century Stores

20th Century Stores is a vintage shop in Stockport featuring a collection of specialist independent vintage traders. We offer an extensive range of genuine 20th Century items including homeware, decorative items, furniture, luggage, costume jewellery, vintage clothing and accessories, textiles, books, posters and various other items of use or ornament (preferably both). There is no vintage shop in Stockport like this one.

Our watchwords are quality and authenticity. Our vintage goods date primarily from the 1920s to the 1980s. And you can find us right in the heart of Stockport’s historic Old Town, next to the Covered Market Hall in the Market Place.

The front window faces the Market Place, but the premises runs down the whole length of Park Street.  Come in for a mooch!

  1. I notice there is a step at the front of your shop. Do you have a wheelchair ramp? Is the shop wheelchair accessible?

    • Hello Rachel, I’m afraid our premises is not very wheelchair friendly as there are three sets of steps inside. However, access is possible through the front door with a bit of help (we are happy to!) but that is only for the front unit of the shop. There is another side door on Park Street with a small step which gives access to three units, and then a final side door on Park Street further down which gives access to the bottom unit. We are always happy to help!

  2. Hi, saw your lampshades at Pear Mill and was planning on making the trip from Nantwich to you in order to purchase one or two. Please can you tell me if you have many in stock at present?

    • Hi Kate, Snygg who make the lampshades are no longer here at 20th Century Stores. You can contact them directly via their Facebook page or Twitter – search for snyggstyle.
